Northeast Nebraska County Opens Disaster Recovery Center

STANTON – Two more Nebraska counties will open Disaster Recovery Centers (DCR’s) through the state of Nebraska and FEMA.

According to a release, recovery specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will provide information on available services, explain assistance programs and help survivors complete or check the status of their applications. They can provide referrals and help with appeals.

The DRC location in Stanton County will be at Parish Hall of St. Peter’s Catholic Church (1502 Ivy St.) in Stanton. The center will open on Tuesday, April 23 through Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Another center will be held in Boyd County from the Spencer Community Hall (108 W. Main St.) Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Centers are equipped with captioned phones, video remote interpreting and assistive listening devices.

Nebraska homeowners, renters and business owners in Antelope, Boone, Boyd, Buffalo, Burt, Butler, Cass, Colfax, Cuming, Custer, Dodge, Douglas, Hall, Howard, Knox, Madison, Nance, Nemaha, Pierce, Platte, Richardson, Saline, Sarpy, Saunders, Stanton, Thurston and Washington counties along with the Santee Sioux Nation may apply for assistance for uninsured and underinsured damage and losses resulting from severe winter storm, straight-line winds and flooding.
