Northeast Community College To Offer Forklift Safety Train The Trainer Course

NORFOLK – Individuals who need training on forklift safety will be able to attend an upcoming course in early August on the campus of Northeast Community College.

According to a release from the Norfolk campus, the forklift safety training course is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Instruction for ‘Forklift Safety Train the Trainer’ will meet in the Applied Technology Building, Room 117 at Northeast Community College.

This program allows on-site trainers to meet requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for formal instruction, training and evaluation of forklift operators. It is designed for safety managers, warehouse managers, construction site managers, supervisors and team leaders.

One hour of hands-on training is included. Topics to be covered include relevant OSHA standards and compliance, best practices, training and evaluation techniques as well as how to educate non-operators about workplace safety around forklifts.

Participants will receive a training kit with everything that is needed to conduct forklift instruction: easy to follow facilitator guide/Companion DVD (plus PC/Mac CD-ROM version)/administrative guidelines/reproducible tests and forms.

Cost of the class, which is taught by a Nebraska Safety Council representative, is $525.
