North Star Services In Wayne To Host DHHS “Let’s Talk” Session September 19

WAYNE – Towards the end of September the Division of Developmental Disabilities will be hosting a listening session in northeast Nebraska.

According to a release from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), “Let’s Talk” meetings will be held across the state to gather input on services provided by the Division.

The first of eight sessions will be held in LaVista on Wednesday, September 4 while the final meeting will be held on Thursday, September 26 in Omaha; both from 6 – 8 p.m. Also, northeast Nebraska will be a location in Wayne from North Star Services (1202 E. 14th St) on Thursday, September 19 from 6 – 8 p.m. Other “Let’s Talk” sessions are scheduled for Monday, September 9 (Beatrice); Tuesday, September 10 (Lincoln); Sunday, September 15 (Valentine); Monday, September 16 (Scottsbluff) and Wednesday, September 18 (Kearney).

Each of the past four years, Courtney Miller, Director of DHHS Division of Developmental Disability, has invited stakeholder participation in town hall sessions as part of an ongoing outreach effort to provide more effective and efficient customer service to those the Division works with and serves.

Miller stated, “Individuals, their families, friends, providers and advocates are critical voices in the programs that serve Nebraskans with developmental disabilities. That’s why it’s essential to have these dialogues with the public. (They) look forward to receiving feedback.”
