WAYNE – The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department has offered a correction to yesterday’s news story in which we inadvertently transposed the number of recoveries from Covid-19 in the 4-county NNPHD Health District.
According to Health Director Julie Rother there have been 247 recoveries and 60 who remain in isolation.
We also mis-stated that the descriptive charts which we posted were not available on their web site. In fact they are. And they are fairly easy to access if your are using a personal computer. However, users of IOS or other Apple products may find locating the chart updates more challenging, depending on your software version.
Rother says the charts have been available since July 15th and are updated weekly. Area residents are encouraged to re-visit their web site on a regular basis.
In an update from NNPHD Thursday afternoon, the district now shows 255 recoveries out of 322 positive tests. Of 2,928 tests, 2,554 have been negative. One new positive was recorded Thursday in Thurston County. The District deaths remain at 8.
Dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic over these months has been challenging for health departments across Nebraska, given the increased work load. We appreciate the efforts of all health care workers, especially NNPHD, in the struggle to keep the community safe.
