NNPHD Moves Into ‘Orange’ COVID-19 Spread Risk

WAYNE – As high school and college students make their return to northeast Nebraska a change has been made in the COVID-19 Risk Dial for an area health district.

According to a release from the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department, the risk dial moved up from moderate (yellow) to a shade into high (orange) on the four-color dial.

Only two new positive COVID-19 cases were reported in Cedar county bringing their total to 34. Thurston county remains the same at 222, Dixon county at 62 and Wayne county at 41 overall. A total of 292 individuals have recovered from the virus leaving only 67 outstanding cases in the NNPHD Health District. The health department has also reported 4,189 tests.

A total of 31 individuals have ever been hospitalized in the NNPHD Health District with currently no one being hospitalized as of Tuesday.
