NNPHD Health District COVID-19 Positive Cases Rise By One, Fourth Death Reported

WAYNE – Along with seeing one more positive COVID-19 case in Thurston county, another death was also reported for a Thurston county resident.

According to a release from the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department, the Thurston county resident was a male in his 60s with underlying health conditions marking the fourth death in the health district and third in the county. The new COVID-19 patient also being confirmed was a male in his 50s.

As of Monday evening, there have been 1,149 COVID-19 tests reported for people living in the NNPHD Health District of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston and Wayne counties. The results of these tests are 192 positive cases (Cedar – 8, Dixon – 35, Thurston – 124 and Wayne county – 25), 909 negatives and 48 tests currently pending results

As far as any cases, when NNPHD releases someone from isolation the health department no longer follows them to see how they are doing as the report from the health department does not include number of hospitalizations or recoveries.
