New Specialty License Plates Available In Nebraska Starting January 1

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles will be rolling out 16 new specialty license plates beginning January 1. The state legislature helped make this possible.

Each plate supports different funds and organizations. The Nebraska Department of Veterans Affairs, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, and University of Nebraska Medical Center are among the many benefiting organizations.

All 16 specialty plates can be ordered and purchased online. Online ordering is encouraged to reduce foot-traffic at local and state offices.

It will take approximately 30 days after submitting an order for these plates to be produced and sent to a county treasurer’s office.
