New FACS Course To Be Presented, Administrator Contracts Ready For Discussion During Board Of Education Meeting

WAYNE – With graduation only two months away, the Wayne Community Schools Board of Education will hold their regularly scheduled meeting Monday evening from Room 407 (library).

The Board of Education will hold a tour of the Junior/Senior High School at 4:30 p.m. following a 4 p.m. meeting for the Finance Committee. The monthly meeting will start at 5 p.m. as graduation is on Friday, May 12 from Wayne State College at 2 p.m.

Under new business, there’ll be a motion to approve the addition of the Intro to Education Course for next year. The course will be designed to introduce students to career opportunities and related skills in the Education and Training career field, including teaching and professional education training. There are 13 students currently showing interest and the course would last one semester.

Contracts will also be a topic during the Board of Education meeting for the salaries and Administrator Contracts for the 2018-19 school year. The Director group salaries and contracts will hear a motion as well.

Policies for open enrollment resolution, pregnant and parenting students, purchasing as well as early leave incentive program will also be looked at.

Superintendent Mark Lenihan will give a budget update, a revision and Job Shadow report along with information about the Lunch Program Cash Resource.

March Honor Coffee members include those in spelling bee and library aides which will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Commons of the Wayne Jr/Sr High School.

Library Aides: Colton Spahr, Meghan Spahr, Adriana Vergas, Miranda Fehringer, Liz Junck, Ky Kenny, Jenna Trenhaile, Trisha Mitchell, Micha Carson and Zach Schenck.
