New Chairman, Vice-Chair For Board of Commissioners, Equalization To Be Elected

WAYNE – The first of two regularly scheduled Wayne County Board of Commissioners meetings will take place this morning as representatives of the board chairmen and vice chairman will be elected.

From the Public Safety Annex, the meeting will be both available in person or by visiting waynecountyne.org and selecting virtual meetings under the ‘Commissioners’ drop-down tab. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m.

Following the changing of the guard among the three commissioners, the Wayne County Board of Equalization will meet to approve corrections to the Real Estate Tax List for 2020. The group will then reconvene as the Board of Commissioners where several appointments will be made.

The board will then take action on employee raises and contribution toward health insurance in 2021 before another action item will agree to participate in Region 4 Behavioral Health System under the Interlocal Cooperation Act

Appointments scheduled include Wayne County Emergency Manager, Nic Kemnitz and Highway Superintendent, Mark Casey.

More information will then be brought forward about the courthouse restoration project. Commissioners will review the work yet to be completed and take action on a change order for keys and snow guards as well as take action on the Certificate of Substantial Completion.
