NEDA, Diplomat Conference Began Wednesday Night With Northeast Nebraska Diplomat Of The Year Presentation

WAYNE – As the Nebraska Economic Developers Association (NEDA) & Nebraska Diplomat Conference continues in Wayne over a three-day period, an award was announced Wednesday evening.

From the Beaumont Event & Concert Hall, the Formal Diplomats Awards Banquet was held.

According to a release, Jim Bradford, Jr. of Norfolk was named the 2019 Northeast Nebraska Diplomat of the Year. Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts and Nebraska Diplomat President Daniel Duncan presented the award.

Bradford, Jr. has been a Nebraska Diplomat since 1996 and is a business, civic and community leader well known throughout Nebraska. As the owner and chief executive of The Bradford Agency, he provides a point of view based on his 50+ years of experience in local, state and national business affairs.

Mr. Bradford has been a lead contributor to many of Norfolk’s most significant building campaigns. His generosity is visible in city projects such as the Northeast Community College Lifelong Learning Center, United Way, Faith Regional Health Services bed tower addition, Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau building, the Norfolk Senior Center, Norfolk Veteran’s Home Heroes Park, the Norfolk Arts Center and the Norfolk Family YMCA expansion.

The Nebraska Diplomats, Inc. is a non-profit corporation with membership of more than 500 business executives and community leaders. Diplomats, who are primarily executives from profit business organizations, use their rapport with other business executives throughout the world to promote investment and employment in Nebraska. The organization functions to support the Nebraska Department of Economic Development and local economic development organizations to promote Nebraska’s productive business climate and unique quality of life. The organization provides a network of Nebraska leaders without political, organizational, or geographic restrictions.

More sessions were held throughout Thursday with closing remarks scheduled for Friday at 11:45 a.m.
