GRAND ISLAND – As the 150th Nebraska State Fair concluded Tuesday, state officials have announced the highlighted achievements from Grand Island.
According to a release, the Nebraska State Fair proves Nebraska Strong as attendance was substantial during the final few days of the fair with dry weather. The fair lasted from August 23 – September 2.
The fair saw a strong growth in livestock and small animal entries along with sponsorships. From all 93 Nebraska counties, 4-H was represented by 10,000 entries while FFA reported the best show in both the quality and number of animals fueled by the growth of 40 new FFA Chapters in 2019.
The Truck and Tractor pull saw record participation as well as the Nebraska Strong Ranch Rodeo, the first polo match was held in fair history and fireworks were added. The University of Nebraska Marching band also performed and there were 12 concerts in 11 days.
A full fair report, which will be released on October 1, is currently being prepared and audited.
