GRAND ISLAND – The Nebraska State Fair appointed two new board members. This includes Stanton’s own, Tom Schellpeper as the District 3 representative. Schellpeper was elected at the annual Nebraska Association of Fair Managers meeting.

Schellpeper has lived in Stanton for life, which included a 15-year stint on the Stanton County Fair board. Additionally, he is a past President of the Nebraska Association of Fair Managers. Schellpeper possesses a wide-ranging knowledge of agriculture for the fair, given his involvement with the family farm. His father served as a Nebraska State Fair board member, too.

The other newest board member is Tom Dinsdale from Grand Island to serve as the Grand Island representative. Dinsdale is the owner of Dinsdale Automotive in Grand Island and was appointed by Governor Pete Ricketts. He spent his childhood days in Palmer learning how to work hard by haying and feeding cattle. Dinsdale is lauded for his consistent effort to give back to the community.
