NORFOLK – Northeast Community College and the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce (NACC) will host an event intended for businesses and manufacturers. It is called “Straight Talk with State Leaders.” The date is set for Friday, October 23 at 8 a.m. over Zoom.

The College and NACC invite leaders across the college’s 20-county radius to participate in the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Fall Forum. The webinar is free.

Some featured speakers include Nebraska Chamber President Bryan Slone, Blueprint Nebraska President Jim Smith, Northeast Community College President Leah Barrett, and state legislators and legislative candidates.

The event intends to inspire economic development within communities. There will be a forum for interactions between state and local chamber members and legislators.

It is valuable that the Fall Forum explores ideas that ensure the development of business needs and the skills of the workforce, according to Barrett.

The two-way communication the forum provides between legislators and chamber members is very important, according to Slone.

The Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the largest business association in the state. They have served Nebraska’s communities since 1912.
