Nebraska Chamber Forums Come To Northeast Nebraska In September, October

LINCOLN – An event that started in late August will continue through late October as Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry staff travel across Nebraska to present the State Chamber’s 2018 legislative forums.

A total of 30 communities will be visited where, for more than 30 years, the State Chamber has conducted these forums in cooperation with local chambers of commerce throughout Nebraska.

According to a release, the legislative forums allow the Chamber to gather input from business leaders on important issues, while sharing information about recent state legislation and developments impacting the business community.

Northeast Nebraska will see their first visit on Thursday, September 6 from the South Sioux City, City Hall for a lunch between 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Contact Jim Steele for more information at 402-494-1626.

Other stops will be on Thursday, September 27 from the West Point Pizza Ranch (noon – 1:30 p.m.) and Monday, October 8 in Norfolk with a location still to be determined for lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m. Call 402-372-2981 for West Point and 402-371-4862 for Norfolk information.

All local chamber of commerce members, along with members of the news media, are encouraged to attend. Elected leaders are also invited.

This year’s State Chamber presentation will examine key business-related bills in the 2018 session of the Nebraska Legislature, as well as important issues awaiting state lawmakers in 2019.
