MRI Magnet Installed At Providence Medical Center, Open House Scheduled For June 5

WAYNE – A brand new MRI magnet was delivered by Cassling Medical Imaging and installed last Tuesday at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.

According to a release from PMC, it was a big day for Providence Medical Center as the group has been planning and fundraising for their new MRI.

Director of Foundation and Marketing, Rachel Miller said, “we want to send out another thank you to all those who donated to and supported our first Jewel Gala, where we raised significant funds to go towards the purchase of the new MRI.”

The MRI magnet weights 8,800 pounds.

Mark Tietz, Director of Facilities at PMC added, “in anticipation of having to lower this large piece into the building, our construction crew left an opening with temporary covering in the roof so that we could lower it down with the use of a crane to get it into its permanent position.”

Providence Medical Center has scheduled an Open House for Sunday, June 5 from 12:30 – 2 p.m. to introduce the public to the new Outpatient and Radiology space.

Stacey Hawkins, Director of Radiology mentioned, “this new piece of equipment will provide a better patient experience and new technology that will deliver higher quality imaging.”

Tours will be provided during the June 5 Open House of the new area and information about the different testing and services they provide.

The new space will allow for better patient flow, more privacy for patients which will allow for PMC to continue to provide extraordinary care to Wayne and all those in their service area.

Miller closed with, “we want everyone to see that you do not have to drive far from home to receive high quality specialty care and radiology testing, you can get it right here in Wayne, Nebraska at Providence Medical Center.”
