WAYNE – Another series of concerts will be put on full display by the Wayne State College Music Department.
According to a release from WSC, enjoy the 2021 Holiday Choir Concerts this weekend ahead of the Brass & Percussion Ensembles Concert on Monday, December 6 as well as the WSC Conductors’ Concert on Tuesday, December 7.
Make plans to spark your holiday spirit at the Wayne State College Holiday Choir Concerts with performances by the concert choir, women’s choir and chamber choir. Special guests this weekend include The Black Box Trio.
The Dessert Concert will be on Saturday, December 4 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne with desserts being served at 4 p.m. prior to the concert. Dessert tickets are now $20 (were $15 each prior to November 21). The Dinner Concert is then on Sunday, December 5 at 5 p.m. at The Beaumont Event & Concert Hall (2611 North Highway 15) just north of Wayne. Dinner tickets are $40 (were $35 prior to November 21), with an exquisite meal preceding the concert. Ticket prices increased for both events after November 21. The Wayne State College Brass and Percussion Ensembles will then perform on Monday, December 6 at 7:30 p.m. This concert will be held at the WSC Music Annex (Praise Assembly of God building, 1000 East 10th Street, Wayne). Repertoire mixes atypical music for brass with vividly expressive percussion selections. This event is free and open to the public.
Then on Tuesday, December 7, 10 Wayne State College students will debut their skills during a Conductors’ Concert at 7:30 p.m. This performance features the WSC Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble and will be a livestream only event on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/wscdeptofmusic. Repertoire features selections by student conductors.
