Midweek Moon Walk Taking Place Wednesday Southwest Of Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK – The third and final “Stars, Strolls & S’mores” summer event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 17.

According to a release from the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District, LENRD hosts moon walks Wednesday evenings close to full moons. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. with most walks lasting for 1-2 hours where participants will walk an average of one-mile round trip.

The moon walk will take place from the Oak Valley Wildlife Management Area (southwest of Battle Creek). Wednesday night presentations will include night fishing and the secrets of soils.

Each moon walk starts with a short introduction of that evening’s program, followed by a hike to a designated area to enjoy presentations. Presenters are experts in their field and are from local communities. The evening then wraps up with FREE s’mores.

The Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District will also be holding a board meeting on Thursday, July 25 from the LENRD office at 7:30 p.m.
