Midweek Moon Walk Taking Place Wednesday At Skyview Lake

NORFOLK – The second of three “Stars, Strolls & S’mores” summer events is scheduled for Wednesday, June 19.

From Skyview Lake in Norfolk, the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District hosts moon walks Wednesday evenings close to full moons. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. with most walks lasting for 1-2 hours where participants will walk an average of one-mile round trip.

Presentations will include Telescope 101 – Stargazing App and Snakes of Nebraska this week.

Each moon walk starts with a short introduction of that evening’s program, followed by a hike to a designated area to enjoy presentations. Presenters are experts in their field and are from local communities. The evening then wraps up with FREE s’mores.

The final night will be on Wednesday, July 17 at the Oak Valley Wildlife Management Area (southwest of Battle Creek) where presentations will include night fishing and the secrets of soils.
