Meet And Greet New Team At Select Appliance During Friday Morning Chamber Coffee

WAYNE – After being open under new owners and a new name for over two months, Select Appliance welcomes in the community to see what’s new and hear more about the store Friday.

A part of Friday morning Chamber Coffee make plans to visit their 306 Main Street location, formerly Doescher Appliance at 10 a.m. on June 15.

Travis Meyer and Kelby Herman are co-owners of Select Appliance. Meyer also does sales, installs and service as he stated they wanted to keep the appliance business in town.

“I approached Kelby at the Holiday Tournament actually,” said Meyer. “They were helping out taking tickets and I said ‘what are your thoughts on this?’ The ball got rolling and then we approached Darrell and he was ready.”

Also, the brother of Darrell, Donovan Doescher stayed on working with installs, sales and service. Other family members of Meyer are assisting Select Appliance during the summer months.

Meyer and Herman took over the business during the first week of April and never closed. Meyer added it was tough while serving customers, but they needed to stay open.

“You’ll see from today down at the store, next week and a month from now,” Meyer added. “More and more changes and upgrades also as we progress.”

Meyer spent the previous nine years at Wayne Community Schools in the Maintenance Department while also working in heating and air before that.

Stop by at the same location as Doescher Appliance to see the new sign for Select Appliance.

“Come in, take a look and see how things have changed and progressed,” Meyer mentioned. “The different appliances, the different ranges that we offer and just a meet and greet.”

Friday will also feature a ribbon cutting and open house. Following Chamber Coffee someone will be around to talk more about the business.
