MADISON – A northeast Nebraska community will be preparing for a scrap tire collection day in August.
According to a release from the City of Norfolk, their Solid Waste Division will be the host for the scrap tire collection day on Wednesday, August 11. The event is funded by a grant from the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy.
The Madison County scrap tire collection day will take place at the Madison County Fair Grounds beginning at 7:00 a.m. and accepting tires until the 500-ton mark is reached, no exceptions. Access to the collection site must be from west HWY 32/West 3rd St. north on Fair Grounds Road as signs will be posted.
Those eligible to participate must be a Madison County resident, show their Madison County driver’s license prior to entry and have Madison County license plates. No tires from dealers or repair shops or no rims or other material on tires (concrete, steel, wood, etc.) will be accepted. The owners will unload their own vehicles (bring help if you need it to avoid delays) as the event is limited to 75 tires per customer.
