WAYNE – A part of National Library Week. between Sunday, April 8 – Saturday, April 14, stop by the Wayne Senior Center for a presentation of Remembering the Holocaust.
On Thursday, April 12 the Senior Center, located at 410 N Pearl St. will host Edith R. Shapiro who will share stories and memories of her family’s difficulties in Nazi Germany.
Thursday is Yom HaShoah – Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day.
According to a release from the Wayne Public Library, the day was inaugurated in 1953. Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day is observed as Israel’s day of commemoration for the approximately six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust as a result of the actions carried out by Nazi Germany and its accessories, and for the Jewish resistance in that period.
