WAYNE – A drive-thru coffee house has been open for close to a year under new ownership and a new name.
For those who drive on 7th street through Wayne have noticed cars lined up at 527 Brewhouse, previously Miss Molly’s – Drive Thru.
Plan on joining the Brewhouse for Friday morning Chamber Coffee on August 2 at 10 a.m. The coffee house is located at 527 East 7th Street. Parking will be available in the old Shopko parking lot.
Owners Michelle Roccio and Marcus Janssen purchased the building and started their own business last October. John and Molly Temme decided to close the drive-thru location and then brought in Michelle and Marcus to see if they wanted the drive-thru. Roccio said her and Janssen were regular customers at the time.
“Every morning we drove there, we got a coffee,” said Roccio. “That was kind of our time to talk about what our day was going to be like. Make our plans for our Ag business and that was kind of our moment to get everything together for the day.”
When it came time to make a decision for the name, the two wanted a place that the whole community could embrace. Janssen took some name ideas to his customers, friends and farmers and their feedback was they wanted to have something excited.
Roccio added the Brewhouse has been able to cross a lot of boundaries.
“We draw from communities in Wakefield, Pender, Laurel, Norfolk,” Roccio added. “More and more people are stopping from Norfolk on their way to Sioux City.
527 Brewhouse is open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday.
