Local Blood Drive Information Posted For Early, Mid-March

WAYNE – Plan on joining a handful of northeast Nebraska community blood drives in March.

According to a release from LifeServe Blood Center, there is a need to boost the blood supply.

The communities of Hartington, Wakefield, Allen and Pender will be hosting upcoming blood drives between March 8 – 16.

To help ensure the safety of blood donors and team members during this COVID-19 pandemic, LifeServe is enforcing several precautionary measures. Appointments are required as donors who do not have an appointment will not be able to give blood; blood donors should pre-screen themselves for fever prior to appointments as only donors with temperatures under 99.5 will be allowed to donate and blood donors are required to wear a mask for the duration of their appointment as donors who do not have masks will be provided with one.

Monday, March 8: Hartington Community Blood Drive will take place from the VFW Hall (206 East Main Street) between 12:30 – 6 p.m.

Wednesday, March 10: Wakefield Community Blood Drive will take place from Christian Church of Wakefield (303 Johnson Street) between 2 – 6 p.m.

Thursday, March 11: Allen Community Blood Drive will take place from the Allen Fire Hall (104 2nd Street) from 1:30 – 5:15 p.m.

Tuesday, March 16: Pender High School and Community Blood Drive will take place from Pender High School (609 Whitney Street) from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
