Livestock Show, Rodeo To Be Featured In Northeast Nebraska

WISNER – Plan on bringing the family to Wisner over the next four days during the Wisner Junior Livestock Show and Wisner Lions Club Rodeo.

From Wisner River Park, events will take place Thursday, June 27 – Sunday, June 30.

The horse show will take to the stage at 4 p.m. Thursday before the Lions Club Rodeo is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Live entertainment will also be provided at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Getting into the weekend the beef show will start at 8 a.m., followed by the rabbit show at 9:30 a.m., sheep show at 10 a.m. and dog show at 2 p.m. Saturday while Sunday’s showings will be for swine, bucket calf, dairy, goat and pets while kids games will last from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Bareback riding, calf roping, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, bull riding, ladies breakaway roping, women’s barrel race, team roping along with local kids mutton bustin at 7 p.m. will take place during the Wisner Lions Club Rodeo.

Other Saturday events will feature bingo from noon until 6 p.m., kids fishing at 1 p.m. and an archery shoot at 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon will also showcase the poker run at 11:30 a.m. (sign-up from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.), junk wars at 1 p.m. (check-in at noon) before closing out the afternoon with a frog jumping contest and turtle race at 1 p.m.
