WAKEFIELD – With the next series of shows at the Little Red Hen Theatre being announced for 2022, make plans to celebrate Christmas in a unique way this weekend.

This weekend’s Little Red Hen Theatre performance will be “A Very Die-Hard Christmas” running Thursday, December 9 – Saturday, December 11 at 7 p.m. each night.

Season 2021 closes out this weekend as Little Red Hen Theatre Managing Director, Adam Goos said each of the previous shows paid homage to something else.

“So, our first show of the season was ‘PUFFS’ which was a parody of the Harry Potter books and the Harry Potter movies,” said Goos. “We did ‘Shrek’ this summer which is wonderful but again is a musical based upon a movie. So, when thinking about what to pair with those things for our Christmas movie, we’ve got these other works we’re doing that are based on films, lets do the same thing with our Christmas show.”

Little Red Hen Theatre is located at 316 Main Street in Wakefield.

A cast of 15 people make up “A Very Die-Hard Christmas” which will last roughly 90 minutes and is meant for ages 13 and older.

“But if you imagined the cast of SNL was going to do their own version of Die Hard, that’s kind of what this show is. It’s a complete total sketchy comedy send up and it is a laugh a minute.”

Visit or contact the box office for ticket information. Ticket prices are $11 for adults or $9 for senior tickets and student tickets (includes $1 for ticketing fee).

Season 2020, “Be A Part of Our World!” will feature ‘For Peter Pan on her 70th Birthday’ March 11 – 13; a special event of “Rock – N – Remember with Joseph Hall” April 22 – 23; Drama Camp ‘Little Red Hen Theatre Academy’ event June 13 – 18; Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” (musical) July 15 – 17 and 22 – 24; “Let’s Create” a Little Red Hen Theatre Academy Event in September of 2022; “Danial Christian” October 8 and “A Little Red Hen Christmas” December 9 – 11.
