Light Snow Forecasted, Bitterly Cold Temps To Prepare For This Weekend

WAYNE – With snow likely to pass through a portion of the Midwest, the National Weather Service has pushed the time frame back.

According to a release form the NWS Wednesday afternoon, accumulating snow will spread across eastern Nebraska/Southwest IA Friday afternoon while tapering off Saturday morning.

The average snowfall will range from 2-4 inches with some locally higher amounts. Forecast snowfall amounts may change as Friday gets closer.

Increasing north winds late Friday night into Saturday morning could create blowing snow. The peak intensity of snow will take place from noon Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday.

Make sure to bundle up with a bitterly cold weekend to follow the snow. Saturday and Sunday winds chills range from 16 below to 33 below.
