WAYNE – Throughout the month of October, local McDonald’s owner-operators of Nebraska are celebrating their 30th anniversary of their family-owned restaurant group.
According to a release from Leonard Management McDonald’s, they are continuing to show their support of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
Marla Snyder has been the Director of Marketing and Community Relations with Leonard Management for the past four years and previously spent roughly 16 years with the Omaha World Herald as their Entertainment Executive.
Snyder said 30 years is a big accomplishment as Leonard Management partnered with the Sioux Falls Ronald McDonald House and the local Omaha Chapter, Ronald McDonald House.
“So, 30 days of giving started on October 1 with all 32 of our restaurants,” said Snyder. “You’re able to donate one of the items and when you do bring a donation of one of those items, in return we give you a free dessert card.”
There are 20 Leonard Management Restaurant locations across Nebraska including a handful in northeast Nebraska being in Wayne (617 Tomar Dr.), two in Norfolk (813 S. 13th St./ 1205 Riverside Blvd.) and O’Neill (212 E. US-20). Other locations include eight in South Dakota, three in Iowa and one in Minnesota.
Any customer in the month of October can bring in a requested item to donate to RMHC to receive a special gift from Leonard Management as a token of appreciation. There is no limit to the number of donations a guest can bring, but only one gift can be rewarded per person each day. Accepted donations include trash bags, facial tissues, laundry detergent and more. The full list of requested items can be found HERE.
Snyder added a lot of houses were hit hard as the same donations they were getting through events were not happening during COVID.
“So, this is an extreme need and we’d like to see their pantries filled,” Snyder added. “As of right now we’ve collected over 1,000 items and we look forward to maybe doubling or even tripling that.”
Snyder also mentioned the focus of Leonard Management McDonald’s has been giving back to the communities they reside in.
“Being a part of sponsorships and right now I’ve been working a lot of trunk-or-treat donations,” Snyder added. “Partnering with schools and that’s just something that we enjoy doing and continue to do.”
Leonard Management opened their doors in 1991 with their first store in Missouri Valley, Iowa, and now owns and operates 32 McDonald’s restaurants across Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota. The group remains family-owned-and-operated.
Guests can take part in the 30th anniversary celebration by bringing needed items to a crew member at the front counter of any Leonard Management McDonald’s location in Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa or Minnesota. Any gift that meets the designated criteria will be rewarded with a gift from Leonard Management as all donations will benefit the families staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities while their sick children receive care.
