NORFOLK – Beginning Monday, the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District (LENRD) office will open its doors for appointments only.
According to a release from the LENRD, the group plans to start relaxing some of their restrictions and will allow the public to visit with staff in the office. The visits will need to be made by appointment only to ensure a health and safe environment for everyone.
The office is located at 1508 Square Turn Boulevard in Norfolk.
As LENRD officials navigate through these uncertain times, they ask for residents to not hesitate to reach out. Staff is available to answer your phone calls and emails with now also having the option of making an appointment. If you do not feel comfortable meeting face-to-face, there’s also a drop box at the main entrance (west door) for reports and permits.
A recent post from the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resource District also stated that the summer 4-H camps will be held virtually. The new online camp will be made for youth ages 8 – 18 and they’ll be able to choose from a variety of exciting, live, online programs that will allow them to participate from their own home.
The virtual camp offerings will be held by Nebraska 4-H, Camp Professionals, UNL Faculty/Staff and Industry Professionals.
The LENRD will continue to monitor the developments with COVID-19 implementing the latest recommendations from federal, state and local authorities. Visit lenrd.org, sign up for their monthly emails or go to LENRD on Facebook and Twitter for further updates.
