Laurel Night Of Lights Slated For Thursday, December To Offer Weekday Laurel Community Coffees

LAUREL – Throughout the month of December 16 different locations will host Community Christmas Coffees in Laurel.

The December coffees began earlier this week at the City Auditorium Monday which was hosted by Senior Lifestyle Advantage. Upcoming events will be hosted by Security Bank (9 a.m. until noon Tuesday); Citizens State Bank (9 – 11 a.m. Wednesday); Gary’s Food Town (9 – 11:30 a.m. Thursday) and Providence Physical Therapy (2 – 4 p.m. Friday).

Plan on marking Thursday, December 5 on your calendar for Laurel’s Night of Lights. The lighting of the downtown Christmas Tree by Santa will kickoff the evening at 5:30 p.m. A soup supper will also be held at the City Auditorium at 5:30 p.m. while the photo booth/take home craft event (City Office) as well as signing up for the 1,000 books by kindergarten challenge (City Office) will last from 5:30 – 7 p.m.

The Laurel Girl Scouts and Main Street Apothecary will sponsor pictures with Santa between 5:45 – 7:45 p.m.

Thursday night entertainment will also be held at the Senior Center from 5:30 – 7 p.m. featuring holiday treats along with the LCC Bear Squad performing on 2nd Street in front of the City Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.

Forms can also be found at the City Auditorium for the Christmas Tree Contest and Scavenger Hunt. The Holiday Punch Card Raffle will close out the night at 8 p.m. from the City Auditorium (must be present to win).

Next week’s Community Christmas Coffees will be hosted by Hillcrest Care Center (9:30 – 11 a.m. Monday); Kardell’s Auto (9 – 11 a.m. Tuesday); Senior Citizen Center (9 – 11 a.m. Wednesday); Hillcrest Colonial Manor (9 – 11 a.m. Thursday) as well as the Hanson Brothers (9 – 11:30 a.m. Friday) and Crow’s Nest (2 – 4 p.m. Friday).

The final week of coffees are slated between Monday, December 16 – Friday, December 20. American Broadband at Apothecary (9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Monday); Agrex (9 – 11:30 a.m. Tuesday); Farmers National (9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Wednesday); LCC School and Library Learning Center (9 – 11:30 a.m. Thursday) and Missa Sue’s Salon & Spa (9 – 11 a.m. Friday).

Christmas Eve is Tuesday, December 24 and Christmas day is Wednesday, December 25.
