PONCA – Officials with Ponca State Park will again offer a weekend full of family activities on Saturday, November 30.

After spending time together for the Thanksgiving holiday, bring the family out to Ponca State Park starting at 10 a.m. with the “Feeding Frenzy” event. Participants will learn what animals eat, meet the Ponca State Park animals and join a naturalist feeding the animals their favorite snack. Meet and pre-register at the Resource and Education Center for this free event that is limited to 25 people.

Moving into the afternoon, it’s “All About Deer” at 1:30 p.m. As the hunting season comes to a close and Christmas is right around the corner, deer are in the spotlight. Attendees will learn everything about deer and create their own little Bambi or Rudolph to take home. Cost is $1 per craft from the education center and also limited to 25 people.

Also, as the trees continue to change color with the winter season and leaves dropping the Ponca State Park forest becomes active as animals seek winter shelter. Join a park naturalist during a stroll on the Tri-State Overlook trail (1.28 miles) and experience fall-time in the woods. Meet at the Tri-State Overlook parking lot for this free event.
