Knox County Fairgrounds To Feature Busy Weekend During Appreciation Dayz

BLOOMFIELD – Join in on the fun during the Bloomfield Appreciation Dayz this Thursday, June 14 – Saturday, June 16.

All Thursday events will take place at the Knox County Fairgrounds starting with registration for a Cornhole Tournament at 5:30 p.m. kicking off Thursday evening. Call 402-943-9563 to sign your team up as the tournament will begin at 6 p.m. Cost is $5 per entry, which goes to the Community Club Scholarship Fund.

Thursday will also feature an Appreciation Dayz Supper from 6 – 8 p.m. (hamburgers, hotdogs, beans, chips and a cookie), along with blowups for kids from 6 – 9 p.m. a youth cheerleaders performance at 7 p.m. and a 5k Glow Run at 9 p.m.

The Glow Run is sponsored by FCCLA with costs for those 12 & under being $10 and $15 for 13 & older with t-shirts included. All proceeds will assist students go to Nationals in Atlanta.

Close out Thursday with Soundz Unlimited from 7 p.m. until Midnight at the fairgrounds with a cash bar available and fireworks at dark.

Moving into Friday, June 15 the Road Rally will start at 5 p.m. Enter the West Entrance for $5 per person. At 9 p.m. there’ll be a free Juke Box Night at Bottoms Up.

Closing out the weekend on Saturday will feature the Citywide Garage Sales starting at 7:30 a.m., a mud/sand co-ed volleyball tournament from the City Park at 9 a.m., Duck Races in front of Carhart Lumber at 3 p.m. and Calcutta Duck Races at 7 p.m. on Main Street.

A lip sync battle at 7:30 p.m. on Main Street, registration at 7 p.m. and Street Dance Capital Nine with free admission will finish off the Bloomfield Appreciation Dayz from 9 p.m. – 1 a.m.
