Klown Festival, Tri-County Days To Offer Summer Fun This Weekend

PLAINVIEW/EMERSON – A pair of northeast Nebraska communities will be hosting their summer events which took a year off following the pandemic.

Plainview will be hosting their 2021 Klown Festival from Friday, June 4 – Sunday, June 6 while the Tri-County Days will return in Emerson on Saturday, June 5 – Sunday, June 6.

Make plans to attend the Klown Festival with Friday’s event schedule featuring karaoke and a band from 3 p.m. – 2 a.m. along with a cornhole tournament starting at 6:30 p.m. The 5th Anniversary Celebration Open House will take place at the Plainview Library from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. with Jazzercise in the Park at 7 p.m. Friday night.

Saturday will be jam packed with events of the morning triathlon at 8:30 a.m.; sand volleyball tournament, Ball Backers Tournament; inflatable carnival; family festival and more with the evening entertainment featuring Jerry Stingley from 7 – 10 p.m. and fireworks at dark. More activities are also scheduled for Sunday.

Another family-friendly event will include Tri-County Days in Emerson.

A full day of events will include a 5k run and walk and BBQ contest in the morning; parade at 11 a.m.; dunk tank from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.; inflatables from 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; face painting & balloon animals between 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; cornhole tournament at 2 p.m.; alumni banquet at 6 p.m. and street dance from 8 p.m. until midnight.

Sunday activities will include a worship service at the City Park (bring a lawn chair), car/tractor show & shine along with kids crafts at 11 a.m. and the hamburger and hotdog feed from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
