Kinship Pointe To Be Highlighted During Chamber Percs, Virtually

WAYNE – Kinship Pointe, formerly Brookdale will be the host for the weekly Wayne Area Economic Development event, but this time virtually.

Karissa Hays, Executive Director with Kinship Pointe in Wayne will join Executive Director of WAED, Luke Virgil during ChamberPercs on the Wayne, NE Facebook page Friday morning at 10:15 a.m. No in-person coffee will be held.

Hays stated nothing internally changed besides their administrative process and they have a new management company.

“We are owned by a group of companies but our management changed,” said Hays. “So, it used to be Brookdale and they just told us the day-to-day operations of how we operate. So, now Foster Senior Living, and they are out of Springfield, Missouri are now our management group.”

The staff and residents in Wayne have settled into their routine with the new management group. Hays appreciates Foster Senior Living since they’re a smaller management group.

“The CEO of the company has been to our building and has been hands-on with the day-to-day operations,” Hays added. “So, it’s really nice to know that the people that own the company are invested in part of our building in how things go here.”

Current residents at Kinship Pointe have been working through the COVID-19 pandemic as the building is currently not open to visitors. Assisted Living residents and staff are being tested twice weekly for COVID-19.

New residents are being accepted following a negative COVID test and 14-day quarantine upon move-in. There are 80 apartments with 34 being assisted living at Kinship Pointe.

Hays mentioned Kinship Pointe still offers ‘winter stays’ for someone to come to a place during the winter.

“They can live here for a short period and go back to their home,” Hays mentioned. “But with winter coming and the ice and snow it provides additional hazards for seniors. That’s something that we do have an option for.”

Kinship Pointe is located at 1500 Vintage Hill Drive in Wayne. Reach out to Kinship Pointe at 402-375-1500, search Kinship Pointe Wayne on Facebook or visit kinshippointe.com for more information.
