WAYNE – Close out the month with a weekend blood drive while several other northeast Nebraska community blood drives are being scheduled for early August.
According to a release from LifeServe Blood Center, the group is asking community members to give blood to help patients in local hospitals this summer.
Travel, outdoor fun, boating and other summer activities can all lead to an increase in traumas in local emergency rooms. Many of these patients will require blood transfusions as part of their treatment or recovery. To ensure blood is available for the predicted increased need, you are asked to give blood at an upcoming blood drive in your community.
Following the final LifeServe Blood Center event of the month on Saturday, July 31 being the Fordyce Community Blood Drive at the Fordyce Fire Hall located at 209 West 2nd Street from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m., several August events are being planned.
The communities of Hartington, Bancroft, Coleridge, Randolph and Laurel are scheduling community blood drives in the area.
