PONCA – The weekend offers fun and exciting activities at Ponca State Park.

The events kick off on Friday, July 27. From 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.  join the Introduction to Archery class at the Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex. Participants must be at least 5 years old and cost is $1 for 6 arrows. Activities continue at 1 p.m. with the Discovering Nature event. If interested meet at the Riverfront Campground. Then at 3 p.m. join in on the Water Works presentation to keep you cool in the afternoon.

Saturday, July 28 activities include an Introduction to Archery and Shotguns class at the shooting complex from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. At 11:30 a.m. the Critter Corner program will take place allowing participants to see and touch critters, furs, feathers, shells, skulls and more.  From 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. experiment with the Science of Water at the pool. At 2 p.m. the Resource and Education Center exhibits Bugs and Butterflies. Round out the evening with the S’more Dutch Oven Please activity at 7 p.m. Cost is $2 per person.

Sunday, July 29 at the Eric Wiebe Shooting complex join in on the Tomahawk and Atlatl courses. Cost is $6 per throw. At 11:30 a.m. enjoy the “What’s a Bos Bison” presentation at the Resource and Education Center.
