WAYNE – For the second straight week, community members will have options in attending either the in-person Friday morning Chamber Coffee event or view on the Wayne, NE Facebook through ChamberPercs.
This week’s host is Greg Ptacek, owner of Johnnie Byrd Brewing Company. Johnnie Byrd is located at 121 North Pearl Street and will host the event put on by the office of Wayne Area Economic Development at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 17.
Ptacek said they took some time during COVID-19 when they were a bit slower to work on quite a few different projects.
“We also did some things to the outdoor seating and we’ve changed some things in our back room,” said Ptacek. “Then added a couple small details into our tap room just to try to make Johnnie Byrd just a more holistic experience.”
Friday will also feature a ribbon cutting for the ‘Byrd’ House just outside the brewery.
Johnnie Byrd Brewing Company is open Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m.; Thursday from 4 – 11 p.m.; Friday from 3 – 11 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. and Sunday from 1 – 6 p.m.

Ptacek added Johnnie Byrd has been holding off scheduling their events.
“Probably come August we might be starting to do like a crawfish boil,” Ptacek added. “Maybe doing some more stuff in September but we’re kind of waiting to see how it all plays out. With the current DHM we’re just waiting to see what happens in the near future.”
