NORFOLK – The City of Norfolk Water Division will be flushing hydrants from east of the Flood Control to Highway 35 and from Benjamin Avenue south to East Norfolk Avenue on Wednesday, August 7th and Thursday, August 8th. Flushing of the hydrants will remove buildup of iron and manganese deposits that collect in the water main.
The City of Norfolk asks customers that live in the area of the project to not perform any laundry tasks during the two-day time period. It is also recommended that customers isolate their ice machines to prevent any iron or manganese deposits from plugging machines.
