WAYNE – Last Friday, Wayne Elementary Boosters (WEB) hosted a “Tropical Night in the Rainforest” during the Fifth annual Holiday Daughter Dance.
On December 14, from the Wayne Elementary school, the event raised $5,700 which will support students and staff at the school.
According to a release, WEB also had their highest turnout in five years with 325 tickets sold. Over 90 businesses, parents and teachers donated auction items along with more than 40 parents (and some children) donating food or time to help.
The evening offered dancing to tunes by PinMonkey Entertainment, a photo booth by Angie Rethwisch; candid photos by Shona Junck and desserts including a chocolate fountain and “Jungle Juice” punch. Fourth grader Janelly Lucas was the lucky winner of the raffle for Husker football tickets against Northwestern next season.
WEB would like to thank everyone in the community who helped support this special night.
The boys will have their chance to dance at the Valentine Son Dance on February 8, 2019, along with their mothers and mother-figures.
