STANTON COUNTY, NE — A Hoskins man is behind bars after leading law enforcement on a high speed chase Tuesday night.
Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says the driver of a pickup refused to stop after being clocked speeding near Woodland Park around 9:00 PM. Sheriff’s deputies engaged in a pursuit that lasted for about 16 miles on country roads and ended seven miles north of Pilger in Wayne County. Unger says the pickup crashed into a ditch when attempting to make a turn.
Deputies arrested 27-year-old Cody Schnebel of rural Hoskins. He faces charges of DWI third offense, driving during revocation, willful reckless driving and more. A loaded firearm was recovered in his vehicle.
Schnebel was treated at the scene and medically cleared by Pilger Rescue.
