Haskell Ag Lab Planning Earth Day Activities For April 30

CONCORD – A new spring program is approaching at the Haskell Ag Lab this month highlighting Earth Day.

According to a release from the Haskell Ag Lab, ‘Roots to Leaves – Earth Day Celebration 2022’ is being scheduled for Saturday, April 30 from 1 – 4 p.m. Earth Day is Friday, April 22.

The Haskell Ag Lab is located at 57905 866th Road in Concord.

From demonstrations, presentations and activities for all, the public is invited and welcome to attend this free event.

A ‘Beginning Vegetable Gardening and Grow a Row’ session will open April 30 at 1 p.m. followed by a tree planting demonstration at 1:30 p.m. with a free tree giveaway. Other sessions include Plants and Pollinators at 2 p.m.; Tree and Shrub Pruning Demonstrations at 2:30 p.m., Soil Testing at 3 p.m. and an Arboretum Tour at 3:30 p.m.

Kids activities include creating a seed bomb, design a pollinator hotel, recycling activities, a scavenger hunt and more.

The second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. will mark the Haskell Ag Lab’s Coffee and Conversations event on April 12. Friends and neighbors are invited to attend while sharing ideas for programs along with ideas for presentations.

Also, save the date for Wednesday, August 3 marking the HAL Science and Ag Family Filed Day. As the community is busy making plans for the day, the event will last from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Some of the highlights will be Al Dutcher with Market Journal, field research tours, landscaping, pollinators, demonstrations on farm safety, healthy snacks, self-defense, science literacy and other activities for children.
