Grand Opening Weekend Set For Providence Community Pharmacy

WAYNE – A northeast Nebraska pharmacy will be hosting the first Chamber Coffee in the month of June.

On Friday, June 21, plan on joining Providence Community Pharmacy at 10 a.m. in suite 101 of the Sunnyview Business Park.

Located just down the road from Providence Medical Center, the pharmacy has been open since April 15, 2019. The location is known to many as the “old Herman Chiropractic office”.

Becky Barner is the retail pharmacy coordinator and was previously the pharmacy manager at Shopko where she worked at for 15 years. Barner said Providence Medical Center called right away.

“They had been interested in opening a community pharmacy for quite some time, but didn’t want to compete with two existing businesses in town,” said Barner. “They (PMC) are interested in getting our team to continue to take care of our patients in town and provide a good service for the people in the community and surrounding communities.”

The pharmacy is open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday as well as 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday’s. Contact Providence Community Pharmacy at 402-375-8862 or toll free at 833-389-1522.

Barner added the pharmacy offers full prescription services, many over-the-counter items and more.

“We have crutches and braces and those types of things,” Barner added. “Also, we offer counseling on over-the-counter and prescription products. We’ll help with just whatever they need.”

A grand opening event is also scheduled from 2 – 5:30 p.m. Friday night and 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded. This will also allow more time to take a look around and meet the staff.
