WAYNE – An elementary booster organization held their Sixth annual Fun Run last month and recently released the amount of money raised.

According to a release from Wayne Elementary Boosters, WEB held the Fun Run for elementary students on September 17 at Kern Track (high school track).

The event raised over $8,000 and broke all records in its six-year history. These funds will be used to invest in the school by purchasing supplies and books, hosting experiences, showing staff appreciation and more. During the Fun Run, 231 students raised $8,100.

Top fundraisers from the Fun Run received their prizes at the elementary school last month.

The winner of the drawing was Jace Jorgensen who received a 2020 Wayne Outdoor Family Swimming Pool Pass (donated by Wayne Area Economic Development). Brooklyn Jones raised the most money for the fourth consecutive year ($340) and received a one-year family membership to the Wayne Community Activity Center (donated by WAED). Drew Miller was the second place winner who raised $200 and received a Wayne High Sports Activity pass for a family of four (donated by Wayne High) as Josie Ley raised $164 finishing in third and will receive four reserved seats and tailgate tickets to a Wayne State College football game (donated by WSC Athletics).
