Full Moon Hike Offered, Ponca State Park Weekend Activities

PONCA – Join a Ponca State Park Naturalist this weekend during a full moon hike.

According to a release from Ponca State Park, pack the family up and visit the Corps of Discovery Trail, weather and staffing permitted.

Those interested in attending are being asked to meet at the riverfront playground by 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 16.

Other full moon hike events at Ponca State Park include May 16 at 8:30 p.m.; June 14 at 9 p.m.; July 13 at 9 p.m.; August 11 at 8:30 p.m. and September 10 at 7:45 p.m.

Ponca State Park will also be hosting their Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 16 starting at 9 a.m. The group will be celebrating Easter in a unique wilderness way.

The naturalist fun will include a trio of spring related outdoor education programs; Whitetail trail egg hunt; fishing on the pond, egg scavenger hunt; sasquatch photo-op and again the Moon Hike at 8 p.m.

Mark down Sunday, May 8 for the Ponca State Park Mother’s Day Buffet. A buffet style lunch will be served from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. as the cost has not yet been set. Reservations are required by calling 402-755-2284.
