Friday Morning Chamber Coffee To Be Hosted By Wayne Auto Parts

WAYNE – A local business in Wayne is recognizing their 50th year of service to the community and all are invited to attend a weekly chamber event on Friday, November 15.

Friday morning chamber coffee is being put on by Wayne Area Economic Development and this week’s host is Wayne Auto Parts. Chamber coffee will begin at 10 a.m. from 117 South Main Street.

Larry Lindsay said he started Wayne Auto Parts with a partner in November of 1969.

“I had worked for a competitor for a number of years and I just thought I wanted to do something on my own,” said Lindsay. “At that time American Parts convinced me that there was room in this town for two stores and that’s when I got involved in it.”

The store is open 7 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday as well as 7 a.m. until noon Saturday’s and closed Sunday’s. Contact Wayne Auto Parts by calling 402-375-3424.

Wayne Auto Parts started up town on 210 Main Street as the building was sufficient size wise but had its challenges according to Lindsay.

“The only problem was parking and to be able to get to us,” Lindsay added. “The chance to come up to purchase this building and we moved down here in August of ’72 and we’ve been here ever since.”

Wayne Auto Parts is complete in the auto parts business with some accessories but mainly hardcore replacement parts and basic needs.
