WAYNE – Make plans to enjoy a weekend of shows at the Fred G. Dale Planetarium on the Wayne State campus.
According to a release from Wayne State College, the planetarium is a month into their 2020 Fall Season of public shows.
Friday shows include a planetarium show of ‘Earth, Moon and Sun’ at 7 p.m. along with laser shows of ‘Laser Classic Rock’ at 8 p.m. and ‘Laser Zeppelin’ at 9 p.m. Moving into Saturday, the planetarium show will be ‘Space Opera’ at 1 p.m. followed by ‘Laser Pink Floyd’ at 2 p.m. and ‘Laser Beatles’ at 3 p.m.
Planetarium and laser shows will be showcased each Friday and Saturday throughout October with Friday, October 30 being ‘Laser Mania’. Another laser show which will be featured with all the laser shows will be ‘Laser Fun’ from 7 – 11 p.m.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, seating will be limited to a maximum of 25 people. Everyone is required to wear a mask. (If you don’t have one, one will be provided.)
Visit www.wsc.edu/planetarium for the detailed show schedule and how to book a private group showing. The suggested donation for all shows is $5 for adults and $3 for kids as all donations are appreciated.
Doors open 20 minutes prior to the start of a show as Planetarium shows generally include a tour of the current night sky, a view of the constellations and a fulldome video. All shows last about 45 minutes.
