Fr. Dunavan On Leave As Allegations Are Investigated

LINCOLN – Bishop James Conley has placed the chief administrator of Falls City Sacred Heart Catholic School on administrative leave during a diocese review of an allegation of sexual misconduct that dates back 20 years.

The allegation does not involve any recent actions.

A press release says the bishop made his decision after consulting with a four-member independent lay task force that is reviewing past allegations. Information related to the allegations has been provided to law enforcement in connection with a Nebraska Attorney General investigation.

Fr. Thomas Dunavan will remain on administrative leave pending a full investigation by the diocese.

Fr. Kenneth Hoesing has been appointed administrator of St. Peter and Paul parish in Falls City. Douglas Goltz has been named the interim chief administrator of the school.
