Flood Campaign Responds To Fortenberry Lies

Flood is endorsed by Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts and former Governor Dave Heineman.

NORFOLK, NE – The Mike Flood for Congress campaign has released the a statement in response to what campaign manager Ryan Kopsa says are  “false, desperate, mud-slinging attacks from Jeff Fortenberry.”

In a prepared release on Friday, January 28th, Kopsa says “Jeff Fortenberry is desperately lying about Mike Flood in an effort to distract from the felony criminal charges he is facing. Mike Flood has always fought to protect innocent life, including making Nebraska the first state in the nation to ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy when babies can feel pain. Ten years ago, with the support of Nebraska Right to Life, Nebraskans United for Life, and the Nebraska Catholic Conference, Mike prioritized his pro-life principles on a difficult bill. For Jeff Fortenberry to attack that pro-life vote and lie about it is evidence of just how desperate Fortenberry is in the face of federal criminal prosecution.”

In 2012, Mike Flood, along with Nebraska Right to Life, Nebraskans United for Life, and the Nebraska Catholic Conference, supported a bill to provide pre-natal care to unborn American citizens in the womb. Flood has been one of the leading pro-life state legislators in the nation, writing and passing the nation’s first state 20-week abortion ban in 2010. Flood is endorsed by Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts and former Governor Dave Heineman.

Flood announced on January 16th that he will challenge Nebraska’s First District Congressman, Jeff Fortenberry, in the upcoming republican primary election
