WAYNE – With no Friday morning chamber coffee scheduled next week during the Thanksgiving holiday, make plans to come out to this week’s host who is celebrating their 30th year in the community.
The First National Bank of Omaha Service Center in Wayne is located at 1100 E 10th Street and is inviting everyone to join them at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 22 for chamber coffee.
Jill Sweetland, who is currently a director, said their Wayne location is a servicing organization for First National Bank of Omaha.
“We service the credit cards,” said Sweetland. “We have a collection department here; we fraud department and we have a credit department. We also have a small mortgage collection division here as well.”
Employees with the service center in Wayne are looking forward to welcoming in community members to check out their building and celebrate 30 years.
Shelley Jorgensen began working part-time as a telemarketer while in college. She advanced through various positions and is now a manager with First National Bank of Omaha in Wayne.
“Through those years, it’s just a great company to work for,” Jorgensen added. “There’s great benefits, a great sense of family. Family-owned company, so it’s very family-orientated.”
One of their current employees who works in collections is Christopher VanMeter from Stuart, Nebraska. VanMeter, a junior at WSC, said he knew several people working with First National Bank of Omaha who said it was a great place to work and he mentioned one of the reasons he joined was the flexibility.
“Being a college student,” VanMeter mentioned. “The fact that you can call in a say ‘oh I know I was supposed to come in at 2 p.m. on Thursday but I have a test on Friday so I’d prefer to study that day,’ they’ll just say okay and reschedule you for a different time which extremely convenient.”
VanMeter has learned a lot about finances and how to handle his own credit cards better since starting in September.
