Financial Wellness Program Intended For Public Employees Begins April 6

LINCOLN – State Treasurer John Murante announced that his office will host six financial wellness webinars. These are in partnership with the Nebraska Council on Economic Education (NCEE). These webinars are intended for public officials and will be held on April 6.

Budgeting, savings, and debt reduction will be one topic. Investing and retirement, identity theft and fraud awareness, and planning for a child’s college are other subjects of discussion. The final two topics will be Insurance and estate planning.

There will be a $100 award for 200 people that complete the entire course. Each subject is about an hour. Five participants will receive $50.

This program was made possible by a grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation in hopes of helping officials balance tight budgets due to COVID-19.
