Final February Chamber Coffee Slated For Friday Morning In Downtown Wayne

WAYNE – A building that has been known as Mineshaft Mall has seen a new look with a similar name as Lukas Rix and Mark Kanitz have expanded Rustic Treasurers in downtown Wayne.

Located at 112 East Second Street, Rustic at Mineshaft will be the new name for the 9,000-square foot building that offer an expansion for the co-owners of Rustic Treasures. The two also own 1912 Emporium while a former employee took over Thrift Warehouse and the two will be opening an Omaha business soon.

Mark Kanitz talked about the transition has been going great.

“A lot of our faithful shoppers have realized probably in the last two or three years that we have definitely needed more space in Rustic Treasures,” said Kanitz. “We have piled stuff so high to the ceiling practically that we needed all the space so we got on board.”

Kelby Herman bought the building and is the property owner as Mark and Lukas are leasing the space.

Customers have visited Rustic at Mineshaft since mid-January.

“Since all of the inspections kind of came back and we got all the official stuff in,” Kanitz added. “So, we’ve let people kind of come through and trial and error the building for us so we’ve worked out all the kinds and now we’re ready for everybody to flood the front doors.’

A ribbon cutting will be held during Friday morning Chamber Coffee, but the grand opening will last from Thursday – Sunday.

“You really have to come see the building,” Kanitz mentioned. “You would not recognize what was the Mineshaft Mall, now Rustic at Mineshaft will just blow your socks off; you have to come and see it.”

Hours of operation will be the same at Rustic Treasurers from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon until 4 p.m. Sunday’s.
